La Tour d’Argent, the famous restaurant in Paris, recently reopened its doors after a year-long renovation led by architect Franklin Azzi. The exterior of the landmark restaurant remains largely unchanged, but the interior has been updated to embrace the 21st century. The new design takes inspiration from the restaurant’s long history, particularly its Art Deco era. The redesigned seventh floor functions as a theater, with an airy dining room overlooking an open-plan kitchen and a platform where the restaurant’s signature dish, pressed duck, is prepared. The restaurant now also features new bars on the upper and lower floors, as well as a rooftop terrace. Additionally, the building now has a private apartment on the fifth floor that can accommodate overnight guests. The renovation has given La Tour d’Argent a boutique hotel-like atmosphere. Complete with Scandinavian-style minimalism, the apartment has been influenced by the Finnish heritage of owner André Terrail’s mother.
